>>FINALLY...THE LAS VEGAS FEEDER CARAVAN<<

Southern California/Southern Nevada Section Captain, Hib Halverson, announced this morning that Steve Nichols of Las Vegas, Nevada, has been appointed a "Caravan Lieutenant" and will be the Local Leader of the Las Vegas Feeder Caravan.

Steve and his Wife, Karen, live in Las Vegas, are members of Hot Nevada Vettes and drive an Atomic Orange, 2007 Z51 Coupe. Previously Steve was a member of the Las Vegas Corvette Association and before that, North Shore Corvettes in Chicago. He previously owned a 93 "Ruby" Z07 Coupe and a 2000 Coupe.

This Feeder Caravan will be for everyone from Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder, Searchlight, Laughlin, Mesquite and other towns in Southern Nevada and will form somewhere in the Vegas Valley on Saturday morning 29 August. The Group then will caravan down to Kingman to meet the main group at the Reform Point northeast of Kingman that afternoon.

For more details about the Las Vegas Feeder Caravan, contact Steve Nichols at snichols23@cox.net or call him at 702-493-1257.

>>OOPS<<

In the last eNews there was a sort of computer hiccup which cut off the end of the last paragraph of the article about the Route Book. The corrected eNews 32 is on our web page at: http://www.corvettecaravan.com/ca-southern/socal-enews-32.shtml

>>THE LAST SPONSOR<<

The final business to sign-on as a SoCal/SoNev Section sponsor is Corvette Mike. The well known, independent Corvette Sales and Service vendor in Anaheim, California agreed to sponsor maintenance and modification being done to the SCSN Section Lead Car, a 2004 Z06. "Obviously, when it's the Lead Car," Captain Halverson told the eNews, "We want the best technicians available doing the work. Mike's top service guy, Carl is going to install a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and a new Fidanza clutch assembly for the event. Additionally, he'll give 'ole 3Balls39, a careful, pre-caravan inspection and will perform any additional maintenance tasks which we can't do in our own shop."

>>MORE ABOUT YOUR LEAD CAR<<

"Additionally," Halverson went on, "Caravan gearheads might be interested to know we have other mods planned for this car. The Solder Joint is going to put in a 45-watt GMRS radio and add an external antenna. Also, in our own shop, we're going to install a CORSA X-pipe in the exhaust system, a Granatelli Motorsports Cold Air Induction kit and a set of MSD ignition coils. Also, because we must be ready for rain along the way--and at the time of year we're going, it can be heavy rain from thunderstorms--we'll have Tucker Tire Service in Covina replace the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars normally on a C5 ZO6 with a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s which are a better choice for driving in heavy rain. Finally, we're going to the Envisage Design Labs install a Scotchcal "Clear Bra" to the front end of the car to protect the car's paint from stone chips.

"All these new mods will be added to stuff we've already done to the car: a Green air filter, Crane Cams 1.8:1 aluminum rocker arms and Crane dual valve springs, a Katech manually-adjusted drive belt tensioner, a Goodyear "Gatorback" drive belt, MSD "Super Conductor" plug wires, Denso IT-20 Spark Plugs and Denso oxygen sensors. The car has a Fluidyne aluminum radiator and uses performance ECM calibration installed with a Crane handheld programmer. We use Red Line Synthetic 10W30 Engine Oil, Red Line Superlight Shockproof Gear Lubricant in the transmission, Heavy Shockproof Gear Lubricant in the rear axle, Red Line Power Steering Fluid in the steering and Red Line Water Wetter in the cooling system. All of these products have been previously tested by our Team and work well in Caravan use.

Best regards,
The SoCal/SoNev Caravan Organizing Team

Going on the Caravan?
Don't go braless!

Even new cars with less than 1,000 miles have paint blemishes from normal driving. Imagine what a cross-country trip will do to YOUR paint.

The solution? A "Clear Bra".

It functions like a traditional auto bra but is far more durable and cannot be seen. It will NOT scratch your Corvette's finish like most "strap-on" auto bras. This 3M Paint and Headlight Protection lasts for the life of your Vette. SCSN Capt. Hib Halverson used a 3M Clear Bra on the 2003 National Corvette Caravan and endorses it as the best way to avoid damage to the front of your car.

Professional installations by the 3M factory-trained Installer in California most experienced with Corvettes: Envisage Design Labs. Call (310) 613-4691 or email Envisage at: envisagedesignlabs@yahoo.com
